Book Syllabus

The Lord is not pleased with divisions in His Church. We should worship God in spirit and truth. See John 4:23-24. Jesus is the way, the truth and the life. No one comes to God the Father except through God the Son. See John 14:6.

We stop following the ungodly herd and return to God's Holy Word. We refuse to handle the Word of God deceitfully or merchandise it. Galatians 5:1 -- Stand fast therefore in the liberty wherewith Christ has made us free, and be not entangled again with the yoke of bondage.

The carnal mind wars against God (Romans 8:7). Jesus came to destroy the works of the devil (1 John 3:8). See Romans 8:2-4. If we say we have fellowship with Him, and walk in darkness, we lie, and do not the truth; But if we walk in the light, as He is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ His Son cleanses us from all sin (1 John 1:6-7). For if we have been planted together in the likeness of His death, we shall be also in the likeness of His resurrection: Knowing this, that our old man is crucified with Him, that the body of sin might be destroyed, that henceforth we should not serve sin (Romans 6:5-6).

1 Timothy 3:15 -- But if I tarry long, that you may know how you ought to behave yourself in the house of God which is the church of the living God, the pillar and ground of the truth. Ephesians 5:25-27 -- Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the Church, and gave Himself for it; That He might sanctify and cleanse it with the washing of water by the Word, That He might present to Himself a glorious church, not having spot, or wrinkle, or any suh thing; but that it should be holy and without blemish. See Titus 2:10-14; 3:4-7.

Ephesian 4:11-16 -- 11 And He gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers; For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ: Till we all come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ: That we henceforth be no more children, tossed to and fro, and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the sleight of men, and cunning craftiness, whereby they lie in wait to deceive; But speaking the truth in love, may grow up into Him in all things, which is the head, even Christ: From whom the whole body fitly joined together and compacted by that which every joint supplies, according to the effectual working in the measure of every part, makes increase of the body unto the edifying of itself in love.

The denominational strivings among us are a curse to the Church of Jesus. Such warring factions send a mixed message to sinners we seek to reach with the gospel of Jesus Christ. This study unites the Church with a common faith. The Church is brought into one accord in thought, word and deed. With this clear witness of love and grace to the ends of the earth, God's authority and power is restored to the Church of Jesus. Our Christ-centered, Holy Spirit filled churches become ministers of reconciliation and ambassadors for Christ. See Acts 2 and 2 Corinthians 5:20-21.
